Although I am not Deaf, I was raised in a Deaf/HH community; my mother was interpreter and had several deaf friends that as a child I was raised around, so Sign Language became my second language.

When I was 14 years old, our family merged with a Deaf gentleman who had no children of his own; so we became his :D I loved what he would say when people found out that he could drive, do woodwork, and build clocks, he would say "I am deaf not blind or handicapped, of course I can do all those things .... lol

Now that I am 27, I still have a passion and love for Sign language and the many friends that I have acquired over the years who are interpreters and those who are deaf!

I am working to get my credentials and Certification in Sign Language so I too can become an interpreter. I feel strongly that Deaf and HH people are just that ....... PEOPLE, I advocate strongly for Deaf and HH equality of rights.
